Baseball - Brett Carter The spring of 2002 was the first season for BCC head baseball coach Brett Carter. Prior to being appointed head coach, Carter served as junior varsity coach at Mt. Tabor College and most recently as an assistant at Vestal High School. Coach Carter, a former NJCAA All-American, brings a youthful enthusiasm as well as extensive knowledge of baseball to the Broome program.
Men's Basketball - Kevin Watson
Coach Watson begins his first year as head men's basketball coach with the start of the 2008-2009 season. Prior to joining the Hornets, he coached Varsity and JV boys basketball at Chenango Forks High School as well as the Southern Tier Rage 17U AAU. Kevin is a Binghamton native and played on BCC's 1997-1999 MSAC championship teams. He graduated from SUNY Cortland with a bachelor's degree in physical education. Kevin and his wife Jennifer reside in Chenango Bridge with their three daughters Kara, Kaylee and Kamryn.
Women's Basketball - Mike Huggler
Mike Huggler begins his eighth season as the Lady Hornets head coach. During the past seven years, Coach Huggler's teams have gone 133-67, qualified for post-season play six out of seven years and won the MSAC regular season title in 2005 and 2008. He was named MSAC as well as Region III "Coach of the Year" for the 2004-2005 and 2007-2008 seasons. Huggler serves on the Board of Directors for the Basketball Coaches Association of New York (BCANY) as well as being involved with the STNY Flyers AAU organization.
Cross Country - Tom Carter
Local running legend Tom Carter serves as the BCC men's and women's cross country coach. He took over the program in 1984 after serving for several years as a voluntary assistant. Carter possesses a wealth of running knowledge and personal running experience to pass on to the BCC harriers.
Golf -Patrick Collins
Ice Hockey - Patrick Collins
Patrick Collins was appointed Head Hockey Coach in the spring of 2005 after two years as Assistant Coach for BCC. Patrick has been involved in the local high school club hockey program for many years and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to BCC hockey.
Men's Lacrosse - Corey Behlen
Coach Behlen has taken the helm of the men's lacrosse program after serving as associate coach for the past five years and helping to lead BCC to the Region III playoffs 2004-2008. Coach Behlen has over ten years of lacrosse coaching experience. He was associate varsity coach at Whitney Point High School 2001-2003. During those three years, Whitney Point was Section IV champions in 2002 and 2003 and Division champions in 2001-2003. Coach Behlen was also an associate coach for Binghamton High School's junior varsity team in 2000. Coach Behlen looks forward to another great season at BCC.
Women's Lacrosse - Ed Yetsko
Ed Yetsko has assumed the reins of BCC's Women's Lacrosse program. Ed is a Vestal native and played club and intercollegiate lacrosse at the United States Naval Academy. He has been active in girl's youth lacrosse and founded, managed and coached BC Lacrosse Girl's Travel Club. He is an adjunct faculty member in the Business Department at BCC. Ed is a talented women's lacrosse coach eager to strengthen the BCC Women's Lacrosse Team.
Men's Soccer - Shane Cook
Shane Cook has recently been named Head Men's Soccer Coach at BCC. His specialities are mastery of fundamental skills and shooting. He places strong emphasis on developing confidence and a sense of belonging in every player.
Coach Cook has been a strong soccer coaching presence in Broome County since 1994. He is a former Binghamton District Commissioner for New York State West Youth Soccer as well as former BC United president. He also served for eight years on the BC United Board of Directors.
Shane's soccer coaching experience includes BC United Fusion, head coach of Chenango Forks HS varsity girls (39-12-3) and Empire Soccer Club U18 Rebels. In addition to YMCA recreational coaching, he led the BC United Flames to a number one ranking in NYSW and qualified eight players for the State Olympic Development. He has trained Section 4 boys all-stars European teams since 2004.
Coach Cook's credentials include a USSF State E license, USSF State D license, an NSCAA national license and advance national license. He is also CPR-First Aid certified, FIFA certified referee in 1999 and a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Women's Soccer - Bill Rich [BIO]
Under head coach Bill Rich, the women's soccer program at BCC has prospered the last twelve years. Since taking over in 1997, Coach Rich has developed one of the most outstanding women's soccer programs in Region III. He has coached the Lady Hornets to six MSAC championships and two consecutive National Championships 2007 and 2008. Coach Rich has been honored as MSAC "Coach of the Year" six times and was NJCAA Divison III Women's Soccer National "Coach of the Year" in 2007. He brings a wealth of knowledge and the ability to teach to the BCC program.
Women's Softball - Tim Brink [BIO]
Since taking over in 1998, Coach Brink's tenure at the helm of BCC women's softball can only be described as awesome. The Lady Hornets have made three trips to the National tournament. In 2002 they set a school record by winning 29 straight games. In 2003 they finished in third place at the National tournament. Coach Brink's program has produced a number of All-American and many All-Region players. He stresses teamwork and fundamentals as a key to success.
Men's Tennis - Tom Carter
The BCC men's tennis team is coached by head coach Tom Carter. Carter has maintained the long and successful tradition of winning that has been a trademark to BCC tennis. Carter is a Johnson City resident and long-time Broome County athlete. He also serves as BCC's cross country coach.
