Getting Started
Information Technology Services welcomes you to Broome Community College (BCC). This site is designed to help you understand the technological resources available to you. It will also provide you with instructions for getting started and other helpful information. Every BCC student is assigned a unique campus computer account username and password, which allows access to the campus network, your campus email account, and lab computers. In addition, your campus computer account username and password will provide access to a student Web portal called MyCollege.
On campus access to BCC computer systems is pretty easy. Before logging into our network, you are asked to agree to our Acceptable Use Policy at BCC. Here is what you will see on every PC on campus before logging in:

If you do not know or have forgotten your username please visit our HelpDesk at L-102D or view it through the supported link located at http://mycollege.sunybroome.edu. Your username is the portion before the "@" (i.e. publicjb), and the entire address is your BCC email address (i.e. publicjb@acad.sunybroome.edu). Updates to this guide and other information are available at the Information Technology Services website (http://www.sunybroome.edu/services/its/).
Campus computers are equipped with a standard suite of software including Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Internet Explorer, and Acrobat Reader. Instructions in this guide are for these formats.
